Our Thoughtful Path For Raising Children As Followers Of Jesus

Raising children is hard. Raising children to develop a personal relationship with a loving God in today’s world? Even harder. Lakeland Community Church wraps its arms around our families, providing a framework for how children can learn and grow in their Christian faith. Parents gather to find supportive fellowship, from their child’s baptism onward.

Weekly Family Ministries

During our Sunday worship service, children participate in our children’s ministry program based on their grade:

Kindling (Birth-Pre-K)

Bible stories, songs, games, and crafts! We have a blast on Sunday mornings. We put passion, love, and intentionality into our early childhood kids. We strive to foster an environment that will create a spark in their soul and set their hearts on fire for God.

Campfire (K–4)

Small groups, worship, imaginative stations, and story time! At the Campfire we strive to be a community of faith that grows and learns alongside one another through fun activities and worship. Our kids immerse in the stories of God. Led by our awesome Kids in Praise team, we worship and sing and dance and learn to live lives of gratitude and praise.

Trailhead (5–8)

Worship, games, small groups, and creative stations! Middle school is a critical time for identity formation. We explore life in Jesus and help students learn about, experience, and pray through the stories of God. Students need a place where they can be known and cared for by a village of mentors. At the Trailhead, we think it’s critical to guide students into the stories of God where they can find their true identities and learn to live as a community of faith, hope, and love.

Clearing (9-12)

The Clearing is a place for high school students to take ownership of their own journey as they lean into what loving God and loving others around them looks like in everyday life.
The Clearing meets on Wednesday evenings.

Family Ministry Milestones

Beginning with an infant child’s baptism through communion and confirmation, children at Lakeland Community Church experience spiritual development through our children’s ministry. Parents gather together in communities based on their child’s graduation year to share experiences and offer support.
