Beth Settle  Pastoral Assistant to Rev. Garrett Lahey

Beth grew up in Springfield Mo. and moved to Kansas City after graduating from Southwest Missouri State University (now MSU) with a B.S. in Marketing. Beth married her husband, Matt, in 1995 and helped launch Lakeland. In the early days she helped lead the couples ministry, video tech, bookkeeper, women’s ministry and roadies.

She left her career in marketing to raise their two girls, Mackenzie and Kelsey. Beth continued serving at Lakeland in a variety of capacities and also volunteering with other organizations. In 2016 she was hired as assistant to Pastor Garrett. Beth is excited to be on staff and giving back to the church and serving the kingdom she loves so deeply.

Personal Memory

The memory that keeps popping up is the day (and night) we spent stuffing 10,000 mailers to the residents of Lee’s Summit introducing them to Lakeland Community Church and inviting them to our first service, Oct. 13, 1996. We became a bit slap-happy around number 6,459 … Have you heard what’s happening in Lee’s Summit?

Living on the Plaza and driving home late at night with a light snow falling and all the buildings lit up and no traffic … I lived in the most spectacular neighborhood in the metro!

Absolutely love camping, hiking and biking … and taking others camping, hiking and biking. Other likes: gardening … which I affectionately call “playing in the dirt”; refinishing and repurposing things I find at thrift stores, garage sales and dumpster diving; and traveling … anywhere.
